Calendar girl

Senator Cecilia Keaveney is a calendar girl. The Moville senator features in the recently launched charity calendar for Bun an Phobail GAA club. A teenage Ms Keaveney can be seen in the month of January as a camogie player in a team photograph from the mid-eighties. Senator Keaveney is “delighted” with her inclusion. She said: “I played camogie for Carndonagh Community School for the five years I was there. “We always had difficulty in getting a field to play on and there were no wonderful changing facilities that there are now. The weather was no less wet and cold then either. “We always enjoyed the camaderie though and we did very well as we won two junior and one intermediate county title in the mid 80s. “My most memorable occasion from those days may have been the designation I received as ‘Man of the Match’ when we played the local boys hurling team. While we lost the match I got man of the match in the local paper report afterwards! “It’s a great production and a quality souvenir.” Heather Graham, the club’s youth officer said they wanted to give people “something different”. “There are a number of very surprising and well-known faces in there. “We have had a fantastic response so far, especially with the sponsors who we really wish to thank”. The calendar was designed by Moville-based web design-company CG Innovations Ltd. Company Director Graham Norris ­– a member of the team – offered his design skills to put it together in a short time to get it into shops for Christmas.
